Wellness Wednesday: Granola + Bonfires

While traveling along the California coast, I brought along my delicious homemade healthy granola that’s so easy to add on top of yogurt, acai bowls, cereal and even on it’s own as a trail mix.  It’s such a nice sweet treat without overdoing it on sugar!

The Bohemian Blonde Healthy Homemade Granola

 What you’ll need:

+ 1 1/2  cups old fashion oats

+ ½ cup raw nuts (I used almonds)

+ ¼ cup sunflower raw seeds

+ ½ cup unsweetened dried fruit like cherries (optional)

+ 3 tablespoons of raw honey

+ 2 tbsp virgin organic coconut oil

+ ½ tsp vanilla extract

+ 1 large pinch fine sea salt

+ dash organic cinnamon

+ dash organic nutmeg

Could also add the following:

+ pumpkin spice

+ other dried fruits

+ dark chocolate nibs

+ assorted unsalted nuts (chopped)

How to make it:

1) Preheat oven to 300 degrees

2) Mix all ingredients into a large bowl

3) Stir until everything is coated

4) Grease the pan with a little coconut oil (spray or out of jar by applying a little to your hands)

5) Spread evenly on the pan

6) Bake for no more than 10 minutes (any longer will burn the mixture)

Let cool then feel free to add it to any of your favorite sweet meals!

Enjoy!
