What is meditation?

For those of you who are new to meditation, it is a term that includes a variety of different techniques that promote relaxation, internal energy, development of compassion, patience, gratitude + forgiveness.

There are several different ways to meditate but generally it is the process of sitting or laying, in a quiet space. Focusing on your breathing + clearing your mind of your anxieties and fears. Meditation in the simplest form is the development of self. It’s about giving attention to your thoughts, creating a connection with your spirit to live your best life. Meditation is about renewing your body, mind and soul.

There is so much power behind scent. We all have certain memories tied to scents; that perfume that reminds us of our ex, or the candle that reminds us of our childhood home.  Each essential oil carries its own essence. Some help you to relax or sleep, some improve your skin + digestion, the list goes on and on.

So, how can we add essential oils to our meditation practice to get what we are desire? The use of essential oils during meditation can help to enhance the experience by grounding you + creating calmness. It is important to choose an essential oil that relates to what you’re trying to manifest in your practice.
